Karen Papanicolas

Karen is a native Washingtonian who was introduced into fitness at a very early age and has owned and managed her own health club. But yoga became a very personal passion in the mid 90's when she received her first yoga certification. She worked 9 years as a chiropractic therapist and there she began her thirst for knowledge into Yoga Therapy and has been taking courses in that ever since. She attended a yoga teacher training course locally and is now an E-RYT with Yoga Alliance. She has been most influenced by her studies with Robert Sherman, Doug Keller, Joe Roberson and will graduate a second 200-hour yoga course in Spring, 2011, this time in Prana Flow (Shiva Rae). "The first course was just to teach, this one is just for you and for me." She brings many years of varied teaching experience and training to her students and clients. Her highly spirited and strongly aligned asana combinations stimulate your mind and body while moving to sultry music, "traditional yoga", rock, pop, percussion and chants. "Your mat is your playground ... let's play!"
